Virtual Walk for Life … Success!

Our 33rd annual Walk for Life on Saturday may have looked different from past years, but that didn’t make it any less special or significant.

In a year where we were forced to walk “together but apart,” it was so energizing to see people walking to support Life Network across our city, state and even around the world. We received photos from people walking for life in their local neighborhoods, parks and on trails … beautiful places like Winter Park … and even as far away as Germany!

Around 600 people or families registered as fundraising walkers who were then supported by at least 4,500 people as sponsors – all joining together to ensure life is valued in our city and to raise funds toward the free services of Life Network.

While we are just beginning the process of entering the data from our first (and hopefully last) virtual Walk for Life, our initial numbers from online and early pledge sheet estimates show we raised at least $385,400! Long-time walkers and first-time participants alike did an amazing job in the face of this year’s inherent challenges.

During our live-stream event, our assistant pregnancy center director Sheryl shared a story from last week of a local church providing special support to one of our clients. “We had a client who was in a tough spot and needed help, and a local church provided her a gas card so she would have the transportation she needed,” said Sheryl.

We would be remiss if we did not give special thanks to our faithful church partners and ambassadors, who even as they navigate their own re-opening challenges, made time to support this year’s Walk for Life. Speaking of churches and parishes, once again, the “Catholics 4 Life Network” led all teams by raising more than $51,400 … amazing!

Thanks to everyone who participated. We are so blessed to be within $15,000 of this year’s goal – and there’s still time to help ensure we reach our $400,000 goal on our Walk for Life fundraising page. We will provide our updated Walk total next week.

Because of your support, thousands of lives in our community will be forever changed in the months ahead. You are making an eternal difference in the lives of moms, dads, students and babies in our community!

Gratefully,

Give the Gift of Life Today!
