I firmly believe that our Life Network Family Thrift Store is as vital to our ministry as anything we do.
Why do I say that?
For starters, since opening in 2019 at Academy and Montebello (near Target) gift cards to our store have become an important part of how we equip moms and dads who have courageously chosen to parent despite major financial hurdles.
Not only can those in our Parenting Program earn a crib, car seat, baby clothes, diapers, formula, and more, they also receive $10 gift cards. Our clients can immediately use their cards for low-cost items – or save up for things such as furniture, clothes for themselves, and housewares for their apartment or home. It’s one more way we fully equip and empower them to assemble items their new family needs.
How Can You Help?
- Donate Items: The store has also become another meaningful way for supporters like you to live out their commitment to valuing life. I’ve seen many of you who financially make our ministry possible also drop off items you no longer need but can be valuable to someone else. We’ve been blessed by items from estate sales … home downsizing … spring cleanings … wardrobe swaps … and so much more. You can visit our thrift store website for a complete list of items we accept (such as housewares, furniture, sporting goods, and books) – as well as those we don’t (such as playpens, strollers, TVs, or broken items).
- Volunteer: Volunteering at the store is another practical way to live out your pro-life commitment. Our store couldn’t possibly serve all the customers it does – or process all the items we generously receive – without the faithful support of our dedicated Store volunteers. - Shop and Leave a Review! The Life Network Family Thrift Store’s prominent presence at 5406 N. Academy also builds awareness for the mission of Life Network. We pray with regular customers who are in a tough season. We have had patients visit our pregnancy center because they learned about us at the Store. And we’ve had new donors engage as well. Finally, the Store is also an additional source of income for our ministry. Last year, we received more than $225,000 – after all expenses and gift cards were tallied – toward our life-affirming mission.
